Реферат: The Kulogory karst massif is located in the Pinezhsky district of the Arkhangelsk region of Russia. The total length of large caves of the massif, occurring mainly in gypsum, is more than 24 kilometers. All large caves are connected in a single speleo-hydrogeological system.
It is especially interesting to study the water regimes of the caves during the spring flood. At this time, the water from the Pinega River flowing alongside flows into the floodplain and through the sinkhole system enters the underground labyrinths. There a complex network of temporary streams in the caves is formed.
To collect and analyze the composition of water in the caves, special flood hydrological traps were established.
The traps were equipped with self-closing bottles and open containers installed at different high levels. The article provides a detailed description of the device of hydrological traps and the principle of their work.
The article has a brief historical review of studies of the regime of water supply and unloading of speleo systems.
The dynamics of the passing of the spring flood on the Pinega River and in the Kulogorsky caves are described in detail.
The studies are based on many years of observations: the results of interval photo and video shooting in caves and on the surface; water levels measurements in cave and surface waters; data on the isotope (δ2 H, δ18O) composition of groundwater and surface water.
